Rode K2 Mic The Rode K2 large diaphragm condenser microphone is absolutely the best mic that I've ever used for recording vocals, acoustic guitar, violin, ukulele, and djembe. It is, however, rather quieter than some of these tube classics, and probably a lot cheaper to service given that the tubes used in the Rode mics don't belong to an endangered species. Chances are, if it makes noise, there's a position on the K2's pickup pattern knob to capture its essence. As a vocal mic, the K2 sounds very classy indeed, and it has been deliberately engineered to be reminiscent of classic studio mics. Tube Microphone With infinitely variable pattern, Frequency range 20 Hz to 20 kHz, Impedance 200 Ohm, Sensitivity: -36 dB re 1 V / Pa (16mV @ 94 dB SPL) +/- 2 dB, Incl. elastic mount SM2 in a case, Including 10 years manufacturer warranty As the polar control travels across its range, the frequency response and pickup pattern transform smoothly, granting savvy engineers access to unorthodox but wholly usable response profiles. • Ultra low noise. Rode NTK Rode K2 - Frequency Range: 20Hz - 20kHz - Frequency Range: 20Hz - 20kHz - Output Impedance: 200Ω - Output Impedance: 200Ω - 158dB SPL (@ 1kHz, 1% THD into 1KΩ load) I would have no hesitation in recommending this mic to anyone looking for a great, reasonably priced large diaphragm condenser mic for their studio. It's very warm and rich.
